The Last of the Elections

Dear Clients & Friends,

This weekend, we have a short update to our analysis of the 2020 election.

As of today, we are awarding Joe Biden with 259 electoral votes, and we are awarding Donald Trump with 163 electoral votes - neither reaching the 270 electoral votes needed to win. Since Biden is in the lead, it’s easiest to discuss how he can close the gap. Assuming that our prior assessment is correct, if Biden wins any of the unclaimed states (except IA), he will clinch the election.

You may note that we have expanded the margin for error and have put PA back in the battleground race (even though the latest polls show that Biden has a 6% lead).

Below are the latest polls for the battleground states:

I promised a short article this week, which is good because we at the home office are exhausted of discussing politics. So, the only other thing I’ll mention is this: wear a mask. It is an easy thing to do, it will not harm you, and we at MORWM believe in science. So, put on a mask - because doing so is for other people’s protection, even more than your own.

Try not to stress out this weekend over the election. As it turns out, we think that there is a greater than 50% chance that we will have a definitive winner by Wednesday evening. We’ll see what next week brings.

Oh, and Happy Halloween!
