Dear Clients & Friends, In honor of the this weekend, we will make our reading short and sweet. But before we do, a quick message about the Memorial Day holiday. As we kick off the summer season this weekend with cheer and spirit, let us take a moment on Monday to remember and celebrate the brave soldiers who gave their lives yesterday so we could live our tomorrow.Let us also honor our military service people who have served and continue to serve providing a blanket of freedom under which we are blessed to live. And now, a quick note about the new Medicare cards. I’ve gotten several questions about this recently… If you receive Medicare, you will be getting a new Medicare card in the mail, if you’ve not received it already. To help prevent fraud and fight identity theft, Medicare is removing Social Security Numbers from Medicare cards. Your new card will have a new Medicare Number that is unique to you. If you receive Medicare, you will be getting a new Medicare card in the mail. To help prevent fraud and fight identity theft, Medicare is removing Social Security Numbers from Medicare cards. Your new card will have a new Medicare Number that’s unique to you. Medicare began mailing new red, white, and blue paper Medicare cards in April and will distribute them in seven waves through April of 2019. Card mailings will be staggered, and the timing will depend on your geographical location. You can check the status of card mailings in your area on www.medicare.gov/newcard. Your new card will be mailed to you automatically. You don't need to do anything as long as your address is up-to-date. If you need to update your address, contact Social Security at ssa.gov/myaccount or 1-800-772-1213. By the way, Medicare will never call you uninvited and ask you to give out personal or private information to get your new Medicare Number and card. Scam artists may try to get personal information (like your current Medicare Number) by contacting you about your new card. If so, hang up and call 1-800-Medicare. That’s all for this weekend.  Have a lovely holiday celebration and reflection. -Matthew
