Dear Clients and Friends,

Welcome to our 9th Annual Giving with Purpose list! Nothing beats the feeling of giving a great gift – except for giving a great gift that also gives back. Every year we put our heads together to brainstorm 10 companies that inspire us to shop in a better way. Each company on our list has to do two things: they have to make products that are awesome, and they also have to give back to their community in some way.

(We wanted to give a special thanks to The Honest Consumer, whose list of socially responsible brands provided us with some of our picks this year!)

Here are our top ten picks for 2024:

“Bob Dalton was inspired to help the homeless community when his mother found herself living on the streets in 2013. Inspired by her story, he started to call homeless shelters in his area to ask what they needed - they all said blankets. That’s when he founded Sackcloth & Ashes, a mission-driven company that donates a blanket to a homeless shelter for each one purchased.”

2.      Two Blind Brothers

Have you ever “shopped blind” by paying for something and having no idea what you just bought? If this sounds intriguing, check out Two Blind Brothers, a company started by – you guessed it – two blind brothers. Their goal is “…to make the softest clothing and gifts in the world and to help the blind community by donating 100% of our profits back to research for eye disease.” “We also hire blind workers through organizations like Industries for the Blind to help make our items.”

3.      Gifts for Good

Gifts for Good, a B Corp, describes their mission as this: “To empower the world to help people and planet through gift-giving. We are here to help people turn their gift budgets into a force for good. Our premium corporate and personal gifts support the work of 80 nonprofits & social enterprises in 50 states & 72 countries around the globe.” What’s especially great about their site is that you can shop by impact, whether it’s to empower women, care for children, or protect the environment.

4.      Cuddle and Kind

Each of Cuddle and Kind’s adorable dolls are “…lovingly handcrafted by incredible women artisans in Peru, providing them with a sustainable, fair trade income.” Meals are donated to children in need for each doll purchased. How could you resist those little faces?

5.      Solios

Solios is the highest-rated as well as “the first B Corp watch company.” The sale of their solar powered watches allows them to donate to the Rainforest Trust and make watches that are better for our planet.

“UpRoot Design Studio creates delightful goods that make green living easy & joyful.” They “plant a tree for every order and club member, and 10% of profits go to local farms, wildlife, & environmental justice orgs.” Shop a wide range of goods at UpRoot Design Studio, from spa and garden to puzzles and gift boxes.

7.      Malia Designs

Malia Designs makes bags, wallets, and other accessories while employing at-risk individuals in Cambodia and donating to anti-human trafficking organizations.

What’s better than dogs wearing clothes? A dog clothing company that gives 15% of their proceeds to dog shelters! Shop here for your four-legged friend’s needs and wants.

9.      MiaDonna

Looking for ethical jewelry this holiday season? MiaDonna’s mission is “to offer consumers beautiful, ethical, and affordable diamonds that would help free innocent families oppressed by the active conflict diamond mining industry.” “MiaDonna is a foundation-first company that gives at least 10% net profits to rebuild and repair the land and lives devastated by the diamond mining industry.”

Singingrooster.org is a social enterprise nonprofit working shoulder to shoulder with small coffee and cacao producers in Haiti.” Shop coffee, chocolate, art and gifts on their website.

Hopefully this list inspired you to give a little more (or a little more deliberately) this holiday season. If you saw something that you liked on this list, we would absolutely love to hear your gifting story.

Happy and healthy holidays from everyone here at MOR Wealth Management!
